Coach
Doug Cordova
Doug Cordova is a first year volunteer football
coach at Catholic High School, working with the junior varsity team.
He is a Colorado native, but spent the majority of his school
years in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
He graduated from St. Pius X High School in Albuquerque in
1981, playing football all four years as a running back.
He later attended New Mexico State University, staying involved
in football for three semesters as a walk-on.
In 1986, Doug started
law school at the University of New Mexico and returned to St Pius X
High School as an assistant freshmen coach.
There he was fortunate enough to coach in the same system in
which he played under head coach Ray Giannini.
In 1987, he became the offense coordinator for the ninth grade
team and assisted with the varsity and junior varsity running backs
and receivers. In 1988, he became the offensive coordinator for the junior
varsity team, and, in 1989, Doug became the varsity defensive backs
coach and continued working with the varsity and junior varsity
running backs.
In December of 1989,
he joined the United States Air Force and is currently an instructor
at the Air Force Judge Advocates General School at Maxwell Air Force
Base.
